RMIT Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Margaret Gardner AO, said the decision to establish a hub in Barcelona was a reflection of RMIT's extensive collaborative partnerships in Europe.
RMIT selected Barcelona because of its reputation in architecture and design and also because of it is considered a good place for businesses. RMIT is also collaborating in the construction of the Sagrada Familia.
RMIT has already agreements with Catalan universites, UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), UPF (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and ELISAVA (Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona).
